Serving Hazelwood
Holy Cross Evangelical-Lutheran Chapel reaches out to the people of Hazelwood and surrounding neighborhoods to contribute to the hope and vibrancy of our city. Holy Cross Chapel is a place where Jesus Christ promises to be present in His Holy Word and Sacraments to forgive our sins and to hear our prayers. The Holy Cross Food and Clothing Distribution serves the community with free food and clothing for any who may need it. Our faith in Jesus Christ and desire to spread the Good News of the forgiveness of sins, life, and salvation through Him are at the center of everything we do.
The Service of God to us and our neighbors.
Witness, Mercy, Life Together
Volunteer Opportunities
The Holy Cross Food and Clothing Distribution provides vital assistance to families in Hazelwood and beyond. While the food and clothing are free, many clients find joy in helping the many volunteers who make this outreach possible.
God's Service to Us
Worship is the heart and soul of Holy Cross Chapel. The forgiveness of Christ which gives us life and salvation is received through the proclamation of the Gospel and the celebration of the Holy Sacraments. People are Baptized into the Christian Faith, nourished with the Most Blessed Sacrament of His Body and Blood, and strengthened through Holy Absolution.
Being Neighborly
The Church is not found only in the church building. We are your neighbors. You will see us walking and talking on the streets, frequenting local businesses, and attending community meetings. We bring with us the love of Jesus Christ in our presence and actions. If you like, we would be happy to talk with you and pray with you.
